On March 1, 2023, in the Column Hall named after M.V. Lysenko of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, an annual concert was held on the occasion of the birthday of the classic of Polish music – Fryderyk Chopin. In these troubled days, honoring the memory of a great Polish artist, a representative of the people who support Ukraine in all the most important spheres of life, was extremely relevant and justified..
The program of the concert consisted of the composer’s chamber piano works, among them: preludes, mazurkas, nocturnes, etudes and ballad No. 2, op. 38. I would like to single out the performers of the concert, because they represent the Kyiv State Music Lyceum named after M.V. Lysenko. Our lyceum annually participates in philharmonic Chopin concerts. This year, the concert program was opened by a student of the 7th grade of KSML named after M.V. Lysenko, laureate of international competitions – Andrii Zahodiakin, performing preludes, op 28. Performed by Mariia Kriukova, a student of the 11th grade of KSML named after M.V. Lysenko etude in cis-moll, op. 10 and ballad No. 2, F-dur were performed. Then the initiative was taken up by already experienced musicians – Maksym Shadko and Ihor Riabov, who is a graduate of the KSML named after M.V. Lysenko. With his performing and teaching activities, he continues the long-standing traditions of the music lyceum and currently works as a teacher at the special piano department of the KSML named after M.V. Lysenko.
This wonderful concert is dedicated not only to Fryderyk Chopin, but also to the entire Polish people, who have comprehensively supported Ukraine and the Ukrainians since the first days of the war. On the contrary, it showed the power of our united states and the importance of cooperation at all levels, especially on the artistic front!
